Milburn’s offers several options to build an event in our BIG BackYard that’s perfect just for you! With our country, family oriented setting you can host any type of event that ranges from the simple (but oh, so yummy!) apple cider donut celebration for those on a budget, to a picnic setting in the middle of all the BarnYard fun, to renting out our beautiful new pavilion with all the extras you could want!

Any event held in the BIG BackYard will offer the guest of honor and friends a visit with our BarnYard Buddies, GroundHog Hill Tunnels, the Giant Tractor Tire Tower and all the BIG BackYard Playground fun you could want!

All weekend Events are scheduled in 2 hour blocks.  If you would like to add more time, you must reserve the next time slot.  However, if you don’t see a time that works for you or just have something else in mind, please send us an email at events@milburnorchards.com We will certainly try to accommodate!  Please read the FAQs below for important details about parties in the BIG BackYard.

Weekday and non-festival events have a little more flexibility. They are great for Corporate Events, Mom’s Clubs, Reunions, Play dates, etc – if you don’t see any options on the day you are interested in, please email us at events@milburnorchards.com we will get back with you promptly with assistance. Party reservations are available almost year round (strictly outdoors) and by reservation only.(Absolutely no parties or other group events are permitted without a reservation.)

Reservation Options & Party Add-Ons

IMG_4966If you don’t see an option, it’s probably NOT an option due to our seasonal business.  However, it never hurts to ask, so please notate any questions you may have in the Special Request section during your online reservation.  In addition, we love to customize your events.  Just notate in the Special Request section what else you might be interested in, or even if you’d just like to know some of the customization’s available.

For instance, Corporate Events often reserve the Bale Trail in the fall to do a team building exercise.  Or for a child’s birthday, the Corn Maze can be reserved on an hourly basis.  Prefer Sundae’s to ice cream cones? Interested in customizing gift bags for a family reunion?  So many options, just let us know what you have in mind or if you need direction or suggestions….we’ll make it happen!

Two hour Pavilion Rentals are $140 plus admission fees.

March-May Events: The Farm is closed to the general public from January until early June, however we do offer private events during this time. Keep in mind we only offer outdoor seating when planning your event during these months.

Because it is our off-season:

  • Low Admission Fees and NO crowds except other scheduled events, so you essentially have the BIG BackYard to yourself!
  • Guests may park in the Farm Marking Parking lot with additional parking as needed just across the street.
  • Unfortunately, donuts, cider and food packages are not an option because we are technically closed. However, we still offer add-ons like gift bags, hayrides, BarnYard Buddy feed, hosts and more! You’ll see all available options during the reservation process.
  • Guests will only be permitted entrance into the BIG BackYard during event reservation time. We are currently closed, and only staff for your event times, therefore, early admission is not an option. Also, all guests must vacate the BIG BackYard by the end of your event time, again we are only staffed and open during the times reserved.
  • You have 15 minutes to set up your event. This time of year, we can be a little flexible with this time frame, please discuss getting there a few minutes earlier with your event coordinator and we will accommodate you if possible. Clean up time is non-negotiable. There is a $70 minimum fee for events that occupy the space for any time after your scheduled reservation.  Please keep in mind that parties with a hayride at the end of reservation time will need to be cleaned up before boarding the wagon.  Belongings and decorations must be loaded into your vehicle, or stored with the direction of your Event Associate, before hayride.

June-August Events: What a beautiful season to have an event in our BIG BackYard! Both our Pavilion and Picnic sites offer great shade to help with the summer sun!

Summer Months Offer:

  • Low Admission Fees and light crowds.
  • Food Packages, hayrides and tons of fun add-ons are available, including our famous apple cider donuts!
  • You have 15 minutes to set up your event. This time of year, we can be a little flexible with this time frame, please discuss an earlier arrival with your event coordinator and we will accommodate you if possible. Clean up time is non-negotiable. There is a $70 minimum fee for events that occupy the space for any time after your scheduled reservation.  Please keep in mind that parties with a hayride at the end of reservation time will need to be cleaned up before boarding the wagon.  Belongings and decorations must be loaded into your vehicle, or stored with the direction of your Event Associate, before hayride.
  • All guests should go to the admission gate outside, not the Farm Market, and will need the reservation name in order to receive admission into the BackYard. Also, be sure to indicate how many guests are included in your invite, and don’t forget to include parents! If a family of 5 shows up and gives your name at the gate for your event, you will be required to pay their admission even if you only anticipated 2 guests from that particular family. We cannot be responsible for managing a guest list, it is your responsibility to plan accordingly and make sure your guests are thoroughly informed of procedure. September, October & November Non-Festival Fall Events The Farm is just fabulous in the fall and the perfect atmosphere for a fall event!

  • All guests should go to the admission gate outside, not the Farm Market, and will need the reservation name in order to receive admission into the BackYard. Also, be sure to indicate how many guests are included in your invite, and don’t forget to include parents! If a family of 5 shows up and gives your name at the gate for your event, you will be required to pay their admission even if you only anticipated 2 guests from that particular family. We cannot be responsible for managing a guest list, it is your responsibility to plan accordingly and make sure your guests are thoroughly informed of procedure. Additional guests can purchase admission upon arrival if they would like to attend but were not included in your invite. All guests must vacate reserved seating area at event end time, however everyone can stay until closing and enjoy all the fun our BIG BackYard has to offer.

Festival Events offer:

  • Admission includes UNLIMITED ACCESS to all the BIG BackYard fun, BarnYard Buddies, Bale Trail, Corn Maze, 2 Inflatable Obstacle Courses, Milky Sway Tunnel, Straw Jump, Cycle Circle, Boo Barn and more!
  • Meal Vouchers, Cider Donuts, Apple Cider, Gourmet Caramel Apples and tons of other fall add-ons are available, too!
  • Activity Tickets games and activities can be added to your event for your guests. They are non-refundable, but never expire and can be used as cash all over the farm

We cannot be responsible for managing a guest list, it is YOUR responsibility to plan accordingly and make sure your guests are thoroughly informed of procedure. With Festival Admission Costs at $10, you will need to be very clear to your guests, we are not responsible for additional guests and we will make no exceptions to this rule. Your guests must also let the cashier know if they are 60+ or 2 & under. Additional guests can purchase admission upon arrival if they would like to attend but were not included in your invite. All guests must vacate reserved seating area at event end time, however everyone can stay until closing and enjoy all the fun our Fall Festivals have to offer.
  • You have 15 minutes to set up your event. This time of year, we are unable to accommodate early set up. Please do not arrive any more than 15 minutes to your party time as you will not have access to your reserved seating until that time. 15 minutes of Clean up time is non-negotiable. There is a $70 minimum fee for events that occupy the space for any time after your scheduled reservation.

Benefits of having a falltime event? An unbeatable fall atmosphere smack in the middle of all the festival fun! Admission includes UNLIMITED hayrides, inflatable obstacle courses, Boo Barn, Milky Sway tunnel and lots of family fun activities like Gourd Golf! Meal Vouchers, Cider Donuts, Apple Cider, Gourmet Caramel Apples, Activity Tickets for Face Painting and other fun games, along with tons of other fall add-ons are available, too! You’ll see all available options during the reservation process. Though we do not allow outside food on our property, with a seating reservation you are able to bring in food, cake, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages for your event. Picnic Seating is not available during Fall Festivals and unfortunately, due to festival crowds you cannot drive a car into the yard to unload/load supplies, so plan accordingly to carry all items to the Pavilion.

 

Frequently Asked Questions for Events

What if I don’t know how many guests to expect when I submit my reservation online?  No problem! Just put your estimated number of attendees in the required field of the web form.  Your guests will be counted as they arrive for your party, and your card on file will be charged shortly after your event for admission costs based on the exact number of guests who attend.  Remember, 20 guests or more earn you a 20% discount on admission costs!

Do I have to reserve an event on-line and pay with a credit card? Yes, but we can provide you with assistance if needed, however a valid credit card is needed. During the months of June-December you can reach an event associate Monday through Friday between the hours of 10-2 for assistance. You can always email questions or request an call back from an event coordinator to our Event Department at events@milburnorchards.

When will my card be charged? Payment is due at time of reservation for seating and hayride additions. (Hayrides hold a maximum of 40 guests, please add the appropriate number of wagons to your reservation.) Admission charges and all other add-ons will be charged to the card on file the day of your event.

What happens if I need to cancel my event? You will be charged a $50 cancellation fee once you have made a reservation and then decide to cancel 30 days or more before the party date, 50% refunded within 30 days of the party. There will be no refund if cancelled within one week of the party or for “no shows”. So be sure about your reservation and have a rain date plan ready.

What if it rains? Parties are strictly outdoors and weather permitting.  Include your preferred rain date on your reservation but remember we can not guarantee that your first choice rain date will be open if rescheduling becomes necessary.  If the forecast is calling for rain the day before your event, please contact an event associate by calling 410-398-1349 between 10am and 2pm on weekdays, or email events@milburnorchards.com.  Our events staff will be happy to work with you to determine an alternate date based on our availability and your preferences. There will be no additional charges to you for simply rescheduling. If you choose to not reschedule and have your party elsewhere (home), we will refund any money that has been paid, less a $50 cancellation fee. Keep in mind we only have one Pavilion, so your seating preference may not be available at your rain date selection. If this should occur, you will be switched to a Picnic Seating Area and the cost difference will be refunded to the credit card on file.

Where do we park? Please ask party guests not to park at the Farm Market. Park across the street in the extra parking area. It’s imperative that you include this on your invites or your guests will be inconvenienced when they are asked to move their vehicle across the street. The small lot directly in front of the market needs to be available for other customers throughout the day.

What should my guests know about attending my event at Milburns? All guests should go to the admission gate outside, not the Farm Market, and will need the reservation name in order to receive admission into the BackYard. Also, be sure to indicate how many guests are included in your invite, and don’t forget to include parents! If a family of 5 shows up and gives your name at the gate for your event, you will be required to pay their admission even if you only anticipated 2 guests from that particular family. We cannot be responsible for managing a guest list, it is your responsibility to plan accordingly and make sure your guests are thoroughly informed of procedure. Keep in mind that we cannot guarantee food quantity adjustments or increase the number of hayride wagons already reserved to accommodate unexpected guests. All guests must vacate reserved seating area at event end time, however everyone can stay until closing and enjoy all the fun our BIG BackYard has to offer.

Can I get there early to set up or start clean up a little later? You have 15 minutes to set up your event. You will not be permitted access to your seating area any earlier than the allotted 15 minutes. Please do not arrive prior to your reservation time without approval from your event coordinator. 15 minutes of Clean up time is non-negotiable. There is a $70 minimum fee for events that occupy reserved area longer than 15 minutes following your event end time.  For example, parties during the 11am time slot end by 1pm, and must have all belongings cleaned up and removed no later than 1:15pm, because the party in the 1:30pm time slot is entitled to their 15 minutes of set-up time.
