Fall Farm Tours

Our Farm Tours introduce attendees to specific information about the growth of apple trees and the importance of farm animals. A tractor drawn wagon ride through the orchards and a visit to the apple packing house are also included. Our goal is to provide a memorable experience as well as an educational opportunity for you. We can even adjust your tour according to the age of your group! Want to schedule an all adult tour or a tour for a special needs group? No problem.  Just let us know ahead of time, and we will be here to meet you upon arrival.

Fall Farm Tours Include:

  • A Hayride through the beautiful orchards
  • A tour of Packing House and Equipment
(where our apples are washed, sorted, and packaged)
  • Demonstration of an apple picking bucket
  • Chilling walk through our gigantic Cold Storage
  • Walk through the Farm Market
  • Stroll through the Pumpkin House
  • Brief stop at The Johnny Appleseed Schoolhouse (Johnny Appleseed Tutorial)
  • Pick out an apple and a munchkin gourd for your “Goodie” bag!
  • Visit to the Barnyard Buddies
  • For School Groups Only – Includes free cider and pumpkins (if harvested)

After the tour, schools are welcome to bring bagged lunches and use our picnic areas and to play in the FarmYard Playground, or simply take the extra time to browse the farm market.

Spring & Summer Tours Include

  • A Hayride through our Orchards
  • Visit to our BarnYard Buddies
  • Small Ice Cream for everyone

After the tour, you are welcome to bring bagged lunches and use our picnic areas and also play in the FarmYard Playground.

SPRING, SUMMER, & FALL TOUR COSTS

Tours are $7 per person ages 2 and up — does not include online booking fee — there is a 15 paying person minimum (or $105).

For Schools
One adult is free per 20 children, and ages 0-23 months are free. The minimum must be met for schools and daycares to get certain privileges such as paying at arrival time. Your tour is staffed according to group size at registration. Please contact us within 48 hours prior to your tour if your group count changes by more than 5 attendees, so we can assure the best experience possible.

For ALL Farm Tours
All adults AND children ages 2+ should be included in your count. If you are a school or organization with many special needs persons with paraprofessionals, please contact one of our Event Coordinators at events@milburnorchards.com for approval and exclusion rules before scheduling.  Schools, daycares, and large groups will need to schedule their tour before Friday, 5:00pm for tours the following week.

*Attention schools:
ALL PAYMENTS/BALANCES FOR ALL RESERVATIONS ARE DUE UPON ARRIVAL ON YOUR SCHEDULED DATE.  WE DO NOT SEND INVOICES FOR TOURS. TO REQUEST A WAIVER OR EXCEPTION, YOU WILL NEED TO SEND US AN EMAIL IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING YOUR ONLINE RESERVATION SUBMISSION TO events@milburnorchards.com

Tour Parking

Follow the tour parking signs, as this is where the tour begins and ends.  Do not park in the Farm Market parking lot or you will be late and possibly miss your tour.  Use address 1563 Appleton Road, Elkton, MD 21921.  Follow the gravel lane and you will see the red tour check-in shed.

Inclement Weather

In case of inclement weather, contact Events staff at events@milburnorchards.com. Cancellations within 24 hours require a phone call to the Events coordinator at 410-398-1349. If no call is received, we will be expecting you at the established time of your tour.

Cancellation Policy

If for any reason you need to cancel, please email us 24 hours in advance. Cancellations within 24 hours require a phone call to the Events coordinator at 410-398-1349. We will gladly work with you to try to reschedule your group for a later date.

There is a flat $25 cancellation fee once your reservation has been confirmed. Note to Schools: if you cancel your reservation without re-scheduling, you/your school will be responsible for the cancellation fee. If we cancel your tour due to inclement weather, there will be no cancellation fee. Otherwise, the full amount will be due for a same day cancellation. There are no refunds for “no shows.”

Schools/Groups

Please have each child wear an identification tag which includes their name and the name of the school. Stress the importance of dressing properly. They may need to wear boots or coats, depending on the weather.

IMPORTANT: Be sure the driver knows how to get here. Use address 1563 Appleton Road for the correct parking lot. It is marked with signs and a scarecrow, and is the safest, most convenient parking for all tour participants.  There is a map for viewing, or you can print out our “Directions” page for the drivers. All vehicles are required to park in the designated tour parking area, NOT the farm market parking lot.  Upon arrival please have your group’s organizer check in at the Tour Booth, located in the Tour Parking Area.

If you have additional questions, we’re happy to help! An Event Coordinator is available to answer questions and address concerns by calling 410-398-1349, Monday through Friday afternoons, or via email; events@milburnorchards.com.

Please share your Tour photos with us!
