Saturday, June 20th, 2009U-Pick Cherry UPDATE- JUNE 20 (SAT am)-For the safety of everyone, the Cherry orchard is closed today due to thunder storms in the area.

Friday, June 19th, 2009U-Pick Cherry UPDATE- JUNE 19 (FRI NIGHT)- Cherry orchard will still be very muddy this weekend. Wear boots or old comfortable shoes and use caution! Call the HARVEST HOTLINE just before you come (800)684-3000…much cherry “cracking” on this first variety has occurred due to the heavy rains so we may have to close the orchard suddenly (supply/demand) for a few days…second variety coming is beautiful with very little cracking. Mother Nature!

Thursday, June 18th, 2009U-PICK CHERRY UPDATE- JUNE 18 (THURS NIGHT)- Cherry orchard will be extrememly muddy on Friday for opening day. Wear boots or old comfortable shoes and use caution! We will be open, unless thunder/lightning comes our way. Some cherry “cracking” has occured due to the heavy rains. Hope to see you all!
U-Pick Cherries start Fri, June 19th
Sunday, June 14th, 2009U-Pick sweet cherries start June 19, tart cherries one week later. Looks like a good crop so far. The Milburn boys have been working round the clock blow-drying the vulnerable cherries after each passing shower to reduce the amount of split cherries at harvest.
Heavy-duty air blowers should blow away any remaining water sitting on the cherries after a rain.
