6000 Trees to be Planted at Milburn Orchards!
April 12th, 2010With over 6000 trees to get into the ground, Milburn Orchards has already put 2 years work into just getting the dirt ready for today. The grounds have to be in “perfect” condition in order for these cherry trees (and apple) to survive. A very exciting week for us here on the farm!
The rental bees have also arrived and very busy at work already…the busier they are the better the crops!
We also have to teach a little at a time to the next generation. This is Collin (age 9), Melinda’s son. We told him how the tree planting works and that it would be about when he is our age when the trees need replaced. By the look on his face, I don’t think he could even imagine being our age!
Milburns now in the Hall of Fame!
March 9th, 2010Congrats to Evan Milburn, who received the “Hall of Fame” Award from IFTA (International Fruit Tree Association). This is a world-wide acknowledgement and rarely awarded. More details to follow!

YES, they caught the guy soon after the Milburn boys found some of the bandit’s supspected loot. New Cherry Orchard Update
December 7th, 2009 Milburn boys have been busy laying out leaf compost for natural nutrients to help jumpstart next year’s planting of the new cherry tree u-pick orchard. We are one step closer!
